Harry McMillan
Harry is a proud member of Coffs Harbour Golf Club and when competing, Harry always represents the club with club shirts that Coffs City Golf Centre have kindly provided.
Harry recently accomplished the following:
The NSW All Schools tournament held at Tuncurry with a result of 8 over and Taree with a 4 over, both courses proved quite challenging. There were 68 high school players from around the state competing in the open (15-17 yrs) section and Harry placed 25th overall and 11th from the public school sector. Harry still has 2 more years in this event and will look to improve on this result next year.
Harry is 1 of 6 members of the North Coast Academy of Sport Golf program from Port Macquarie to Tweed Heads selected to be involved. He has used the academy to improve his learning and to gain experience. Harry has met and built friendships with other kids from the North Coast that he now sees at various events. The Academy of Sport games were recently held in Newcastle with over 1000 participants attending the 3-day event. His golfing events were held at surrounding Newcastle golf clubs such as Pacific Dunes. Harry competed in the teams event as well as for individual honours. North Coast Academy won a shortened event following two rain delays, then the event was canceled.
Harry played in the Ballina Junior Masters in April which is run in conjunction with Jack Newton Junior Golf Championship. Harry finished 7th and now he heads to Kew Golf Club this weekend (26&27 May 2018) for the North Coast Junior Masters event.
Just to add to his already busy schedule, Harry has been selected in the North Coast Combined High School team after trials in Yamba last month. Harry and his team will play the NSW CHS (Combined High School) Championships over 3 days at Riverside Oaks in early July 2018.
Harry is thankful for the support the members show him and all of the opportunities he has been provided thus far.
