Driving Range Closure
Dear Members,
As many of you will have seen, the remedial works are completed on the 9th green and redevelopment of the 19th is well underway with the team putting in an extraordinary effort to have already filled the drain, constructed the new drain at the rear including the new cart crossing, shaped the new green and surrounds and are well into the excavation for the new pond and the two new tees. In conjunction with these works, we have been constructing the undercover driving range, new teaching facility and upgrade hitting tee.
Due to the success of these projects and being ahead of schedule, the board and management have made the decision to complete the upgrade of our practice facilities. That is, we are going to use the excess material from the new pond on the 19th on the range, we will level, grade and re-stolonize it as well as provide new irrigation. This will complete the first class driving range upgrade.
As a result, we will need to close the range for 8 weeks to complete the works and allow time for the grass to grow. We apologise about the short notice, however, we wanted to make the most of the opportunity to use the excess material coming from the new pond and utilize the excavation equipment already on site.
The Club would like to also thank our professional Matt Allan, for supporting this decision and adjusting his teaching and fitting days. I know you, the members, will continue to support Matt during this period. It’s a great time to sharpen up on your short game with chipping and putting lessons.
Thank you in advance to all our members for your patience and I am sure you will be as excited as myself to see the results of these works and the first class facilities that we will have on offer once these upgrades are completed.
