North Coast Open Professional Tournament Postponed
With borders still closed to Queensland and uncertainty around COVID, the North Coast Open Professional Tournament scheduled for December this year has been postponed until 21st – 23rd February 2022. With the tournament now moving to 2022 we will have our annual greens renovation rescheduled for Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th November 2021. This year will be a heavier renovation and to allow full access to our greens team, the course will be closed to members. The driving range and Clubhouse will remain open.
Practice Putting Green Upgrade
With the North Coast moving, we are taking advantage of the time to complete the final upgrade to our practice facilities and fix the practice putting green. As members will be aware the current practice green is only 350m2, with a third of the green unusable due to the slope. Often balls will roll off the green and down the hill, with members chasing them through the rocks.
Starting on the 8th November 2021, weather permitting, the green will be totally rebuilt to USGA specification with the green to increase in size to between 500m2 – 550m2 and flatten out to provide more usable putting surface for members and guests. We will also be adding more cart spaces on the southern side of the green to free up parking issues in peak periods. We apologise for the disruption and understand that at the same time we have the Club championships running however we need as much time to grow the new green in before the cooler weather arrives. The new practice green is expected to be back in play after the professional tournament early March 2022.
We thanks members for their patience during this time and are excited to be able to provide a greatly improved practice green for our members use.
