Bunker Update from Justin Sheehan
Well what a past 10 days it has been, with fine weather and a lot of hard work from my guys on the Greens team, the bunker works are steaming ahead.
By tomorrow we should have all bunkers cleaned out and drained. The next process is to put a gravel layer of 70mm thick over the subbase, ready for the polymer to be sprayed on top of the gravel. We will be laying turf around them as soon as we can get supply. Once this is completed we will add the required amount of sand. Before we can do this the Kustom Bind contractors have to return to Moama to self-isolate for 14 days, after which they will return to install our polymer. This is because the guys have been working in Sydney for the past 2 weeks and with the ever-increasing COVID numbers in Sydney it is requirement for them to do so to keep our staff, members and community safe. Prior to arriving at the Club, they will be required to show proof of a negative COVID test result.
So just a small delay in the process until they return, but I’m sure all members would agree that the safety for all involved is the best outcome. Whilst the bunkers are out of play, they will be No play zones. Can I remind members to access bunkers at the lowest point to retrieve golf balls, this will ensure that the gravel layer will remain in place?
Thank you for your patience during this process. Please see below a notice from Club Captain, John below regarding the new No Play Zone rules.

New Bunker works are a No Play Zone
I am sure everyone is excited by the new bunker works on 19-27. To make sure everything beds in properly and has a chance to settle, all new works relating to the bunker program are to be treated as No Play Zones with immediate effect. The player will receive a free drop and must drop at the point nearest where the ball lay, no nearer the hole, which is outside the defined area (outside the white or blue markings). This relief includes the players stance. It is prohibited to play from this area, you must take the drop. The Penalty for breach of this local rule is 2 shots.
