Our annual summer renovation was due to commence on the 30th of November but due to the pushing back of the North Coast Open until the 10th/11th of December we have rescheduled it now for the 14th of December.
This is our major renovation where we add soil amendments and correct any deficiencies, it also gives us a chance to remove excessive thatch build up that we can’t remove in our light renovation prior the Festival of Golf. With this renovation we will have reduced play on the Monday the 14th to allow greens staff a full day at getting all greens scarified and aerated, following this we will fertilize and sand on Tuesday, weather permitting.
Commencing after the greens renovations we will also aerate all our greens surrounds and fertilize to relieve a lot of compaction between green side bunkers and our greens, this is where most of the traffic compacts these areas over time.
Once again this is an important renovation setting us up well for the long Summer ahead.
