Update from Match Committee
It has come to our attention that there have been several incidents on the golf course involving members that had led to complaints. The Match Committee acknowledge that these incidents have been committed by a minority and are not of concern to the majority of our members however left unaddressed, these incidents may course conflict amongst members.
To remind members of the expected conduct of anyone who plays golf here is Rule 1.2:
1.2 – Standards of Player Conduct
- Acting with integrity – for example, by following the Rules, applying all penalties, and being honest in all aspects of play.
- Showing consideration to others – for example, by playing at a prompt pace, looking out for the safety of others, and not distracting the play of another player.
- Taking good care of the course – for example, by replacing divots, smoothing bunkers, repairing ball-marks, and not causing unnecessary damage to the course.
The Match Committee does not want to discourage member’s enjoyment of the game, however members need to be conscious of their actions and not impact on the enjoyment of other members. As such members are asked to play your game with undue delay, when stopping at half-time try and limit it to 10 minutes. Please also be aware of noise coming from your group that may impact other players close by, i.e. loud music that can be heard by other groups.
If this continues to be an issue the Match Committee will have no choice but to take action to restrict the impact of a minority of members on the majority enjoying their game.
If a member does approach another group to discuss any concerns, can we please ensure that both parties act in an appropriate manner and display courtesy and consideration to the other party.
Thank you
Match Committee
