Super Six Additional Competition
Due to the fact that we cannot have NTPs, we are adding an additional prize to our Medley events, called Super Six. What will happen is that before the event the Pro Shop will secretly choose 6 holes and the aggregate stableford points on those holes will be calculated. The player with the most points on those six holes will be the winner of the Super Six and second will be the runner up. The only proviso is that if you have already won a prize you will be ineligible for this prize. So, the highest points scored by non-place getters will win the event. These prizes will be vouchers for the Pro Shop to help support Matt Allan during Covid-19.
Tee Markers
We have purchased Yellow Markers for the Ladies Yellow Course. From Friday 29th May you will notice that all four sets of tee markers will be on the tee blocks. (Blue, White, Red and Yellow). For competitions the Tee to be used will be on your card as well as displayed on the TV outside the Pro Shop with the conditions of play. The Pro Shop will also be announcing the tees to use when calling. Please ensure that you play from the correct tees in competitions. For social play please use the forward tees at all times (Men – White, Ladies – Yellow).
Divots
Due to the high number of games that we are seeing on course, we have noticed a number of divots on each fairway. We are asking members to please ensure you repair and fill your divot.
Golf NSW Cart Recommendations
Can two family members who live together both ride in the same golf cart?
Recent advice from the NSW Health Minister has determined that two family members living together can share a golf cart.
However, Golf NSW recommends that golf clubs should consider not allowing this practice as there are several potential issues that could arise. These include:
- Increased difficulty for a Club in policing their cart policy
- Increase likelihood of community reports to law enforcement for social distancing breaches by the Club
- Creating confusion amongst the membership on the Club’s cart policy
- An increased chance of negative media reporting, including social media
Coffs Harbour Golf Club have adopted the recommendation from Golf NSW and have a strict policy of one player and one set of clubs per cart.
Due to this policy we are experiencing high demand for carts and we encourage those members who can walk for your game to please do so and leave the carts for those who require them.
Footy Tipping
Footy tipping will re-commence next week. All participants will receive maximum points this week. Starting Monday, you can come and submit your tips. We have started a special Happy Hour on Wednesday from 4pm – 6pm, a great time to put your tips in!
Thank you,
