Important updated information regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Dear Members,
As you will all be well aware of now, COVID-19 or the Coronavirus as it is more commonly known, has created global health concerns regarding the disease and its infection rates. Coffs Harbour Golf Club is closely monitoring advice from the Australian Government’s Department of Health. As it currently stands we are open for business including all our golfing competitions and Club facilities.
However, we are recommending that if a member has returned from overseas in the past 14 days that you do not visit the Club – including use of the golf course – until the 14-day period self-isolation period has elapsed.
Further it is vitally important that if a member, guest or staff member tests positive to COVID-19, they must inform the Club as soon as possible. The symptoms of COVID-19 can include:
- Fever, cough, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties.
To date we have had no reported cases at the Club.
The virus and potential implications are changing constantly and will be monitored accordingly, and the Club will continue to provide updates to its members and guests as regularly as required, or alternatively when additional Federal Government updates are announced.
If you require additional information or have questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Club on (02) 66523244. Below is an outline of ways to minimise your risk and follow good hygiene practices
Good hygiene includes:
- Covering your coughs and sneezes with your elbow or a tissue
- Disposing of tissues properly
- Washing your hands often with soap and water, including before and after eating and after going to the toilet
- Using alcohol-based hand sanitisers
- Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces
- If you are sick, avoiding contact with others and staying more than 1.5 metres away from people
Social distancing
One way to slow the spread of viruses is social distancing. For example:
- Staying at home when you are unwell
- Avoiding large public gatherings if they’re not essential
- Keeping a distance of 1.5 metres between you and other people whenever possible
- Minimising physical contact, especially with people at higher risk such as older people and people with existing health conditions
