Ladies Opening Day
Recent graduates from pro golfer Matt Allan’s beginners class, won the coveted Coffs Harbour Golf Club Ladies Opening Day event, sponsored by Caba’s Drapery. Caba’s have sponsored this event for 18 years!
With a better ball score of 42 points, Sue Morgan (h’cap 44) and Elaine Phillips (h’cap 41) beat 148 seasoned competitors from Coffs Harbour and as far afield as South West Rocks, Dorrigo and Foster Tuncurry.
Sue and Elaine who started golf lessons two years ago, now wish they’d taken up the sport earlier, as they’re finding it a challenging and rewarding retirement activity. Even one they can share with the grandchildren.
They agree the ladies at Coffs Harbour Golf Club have been welcoming and helpful in teaching them the ins and outs of the game, so much so that they now feel confident enough to play in the full 18 hole competitions.
Golf is a game for all ages, and it’s never too late to start.
