COVID & Festival of Golf Update

COVID & Festival of Golf Update

Further to last Wednesday’s COVID update, our COVID Committee have met again and the following changes apply from 1st October 2020.

Visitors to the Club and Course

As of Thursday 1st October, the Club will be able to welcome visitors (residents) from all of NSW and ACT. Interstate residents who have been in NSW/ACT for 14 days or more or have undertaken a (negative) COVID test after 72 hours of entering the state will be able to visit the Club and play socially and in our medley competitions. Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday competitions will remain open to Members only at this stage.  These changes are subject to the Club continuing to monitoring State Government and Golf NSW guidelines.

Festival of Golf

All Festival of Golf competitions are now open to all visitors (residents) from NSW and ACT along with interstate residents who have been in NSW/ACT for 14 days or more or have undertaken a (negative) COVID test after 72 hours of entering the state. Visitors outside the local area, who had previously booked into the Festival, will need to resubmit an entry form should they wish to play. Original tee times and cart hire availability is not guaranteed.

Unfortunately due to COVID restrictions and Clubhouse capacity limits, the 70th year of our Festival will not be celebrated in the fashion it rightly deserves. Traditional Festival events such as the Wednesday ladies fashion parade/dinner along with the Thursday comedy night and prawn raffles will not take place. The ladies will be having a dress up theme for their day on Wednesday 21st October. The theme for this year is tropical, there will be themed cocktails to enjoy, come dressed in your best (or worst!) tropical clothing.  On Friday 23rd October members and guests can book dinner in our newly renovated room, we will have a special menu and entertainment. Tables of up to 10 people can book by calling the Lakes Café on 66523244 (ext 4).  More information to come.

All visitors to the Club and course will still be required to meet our conditions of entry which include completing a declaration at entry by scanning the QR code or signing the visitor declaration form, must be free of COVID symptoms and are not required to be in self isolation. We remind all members and guests not to become complacent and to ensure you are following the 1.5 metre social distancing rule at all times.

As always the safety of our members is paramount to the Club and we will continue to monitor the situation noting that further changes may occur with outbreaks or hotspots being reinstated by the State Government.

Thank you
